Balsan obtains the Civil security label

The TSI "Tenue de Service & d'intervention", developed by Balsan to equip Firemen, obtains the label "Sécurité Civile Française"

It is the first uniform to obtain this label awarded for the Ministry of the Interior by Jacques Witkowski, General Director of Civil Security and Crisis Management (DGSCGC).

This national uniform designed to equip the French Fire Brigade was developed in collaboration with DGSCGC teams to meet the needs in the field.

Within Balsan, the development of this TSI workwear required teamwork and the coordination of all technical, commercial and quality services to enable it to be developed and awarded the label.

This new uniform is currently deployed on more than 50% of the groups and SDIS market in France. It provides category III protection, and is suitable for use for first intervention fires and forest fires.

To find out more about the “French civil security” label

This label may be affixed to products and services used by civil security mission players, within the specific framework of their operational activities, to create a national unit with a visible distinctive sign, sanctioned by the State.

This label materialises compliance with national standards and adherence to quality and durability criteria. This may apply in particular to fire-fighters’ clothing and vehicles, as well as digital applications for reporting information to the emergency services. The rules for awarding and using the label are published on the website of the Ministry of the Interior.

The award of the label is the exclusive responsibility of the DGSCGC, which relies on the tests of specialised laboratories accredited in this respect to verify the quality of the products and services in question. To ensure the uniformity of the equipment, the technical standards, describing precisely all the contours and details of the equipment design and service provision, are published on the website of the Ministry of the Interior.

The label is delivered for three years, renewable. Users of labelled products or services can report to the DGSCGC on their satisfaction or not and, if necessary, request changes.
